Designing the future of deal teams
Flo, Ongoing
Flo's mission is to solve Investment Banking's biggest issue; inefficient workflows. Stuck in the past, much of the workflow for Investment Banks lays in email chains and calls, impacting deal capacity. Currently, we are in the process of demoing to banks and preparing the release of our MVP.
As one of two designers, I had my hands on the entire platform. Primarily, I led the development of the management features and the visual language.

Workflow management
Built for a personalized experience that help aggregate tasks, schedule, and notifications. The goal for Flo was to decrease time spent parsing through long communication chains and folders.

Deal management
Designed to help assist the understanding of where the deal is progress wise and where your teammates are. Gives users a quick but detailed overview.

Task completion & review
Tasks assignment, submission, and review are streamlined leading to quicker, more efficient iteration cycles. This part of Flo looks to increase deal capacity.

Submission to submission confirmation screen. Goes over every change made and previous comments posted before submitting to for review.
Version control system
Flo introduces a version control system similarly seen in GitHub with concepts brought like merging and committing branches. We looked to make working together on the same deck, spreadsheet, or document easier.

Each team member has their own branch which act as features
Institutional knowledge
On top of a quicker iteration cycle, we wanted to create a system that continuously builds on top of the current knowledge base. With each deliverable delivered, deeper institutional knowledge is created and spread to all bankers on the deal team.

Ability to spotlight smart search previous deliverables can help guide analysts in their tasks as everything previously done is stored and kept for record
The future?
Designing at Flo has been rewarding. Seeing the application grow has honestly allowed to reflect on the growth I have also made. The flows and the screens that I ideate now have seen a big transformation and I credit my experience here, an early-stage startup, to be a reason for my accelerated growth.
I am excited to see Flo grow more in the future and I'm interested in the direction the company decides to take as it scales.
